Wearing Latex:
First method is to lightly dust the inside of your latex garment with talc powder. Apply the talc to the inside of the garment and your skin. Second method is to use a silicone-based lubricant aid Vividress. Apply a thin coating to the inside of the garment and your skin. You want the garment to glide over your skin with minimal pulling on the latex.
Cleaning Latex Clothing:
When removing your garments wash them with lukewarm soapy water and rinse them thoroughly. Hang dry your garments making sure that you dry the inside and outside of the garment to avoid staining or mildew. If not able to clean with each use, make sure the garment is dry before storing. You can use a latex cleaner such as Viviclean.
Shining Latex Clothing:
All Latex garments are shipped unpolished, dull latex. Garments and catsuits are manufactured with 100% pure latex rubber. The outer surface of latex can be polished using a water-based polish such as Vivishine. Silicone sprays and fluids will make your latex shine bright. Never shine with other products that are not approved for latex. Some shine products can damage latex and weaken the glued seams.
Storing Latex Clothing:
When latex comes in contact with light it develops a white powdery bloom. This bloom cleans off but is undesirable and weakens the Latex strength and shine. You can avoid this by storing your garment in a cool dry place out of the light. Each time you wear your garment put more talc on the inside and if required polish the outside surface
More Latex Care Tips:
To keep your latex clothing in good condition you must ensure that it is handled with care. Latex can be kept for many years in good condition. Latex will tear very easily if it is pulled or snagged on anything. Long fingernails or toenails can damage latex. Always use plenty of dressing aid so the garment glides on your body with minimal pulling. Latex can be affected by perfume, body sprays and body oils. A chemical reaction can occur when latex comes in contact with some metals such as copper.
Following these instructions should ensure that your garments last for many years, however, latex is a natural product and can wear very quickly particularly at stress points such as the elbows, knees and seat and especially when the garment is tight fitting.
